Better Renting Executive Director Joel Dignam says people are more willing to “accept a very low-quality dwelling,” as rent prices rose 2.3 per cent in Melbourne and 1.8 per cent in Sydney.

“There’s been this real gap in that more affordable, cheaper rent side of the market for some time now.”
