PETALING JAYA: Independent mixed doubles Chan Peng Soon-Cheah Yee See managed to break their early-round jinx after they stormed into the quarter-finals of the ongoing Orleans Masters in France.
The world No. 39 Peng Soon-Yee See defeated world No. 33 Chang Ko-chi-Lee Chih-chen of Taiwan 21-12, 10-21, 21-16 in the second round yesterday to book their spot in the quarter-finals.
Peng Soon-Yee See have been suffering first-round exits in three out of four tournaments that they participated so far this year. Meanwhile, national men’s singles shuttler Leong Jun Hao secured the right tonic ahead of his challenge in the upcoming SEA Games after pulling off a major upset in the first round.
