Pearson Airport is warning prospective employees of multiple scams targeting job seekers.

According to a, “scammers are offering fake jobs, such as cleaner, driver, electrical engineer, security officer and more.”

In some cases, the release added, the scammers are demanding payment from those looking to secure a position. The release discussed various signs of a fraudulent job posting, including spelling errors, references to “Toronto Pearson Airport & Hotels,” or “Toronto Pearson International Airport Inc.,” which are fake companies and email addresses unrelated to airport or companies operating at the airport.

Pearson Airport is working with Peel police on the investigation. Anyone who has been approached by a fake offer of employment is asked to report it to Peel Regional Police at 905-453-3311 or the
