PDEA destroys nearly P20B worth shabu, other illegal drugs

Nearly P20 billion worth of illegal drugs were destroyed in Cavite, the largest quantity of prohibited narcotics burned so far according to the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA).

In a statement, the PDEA said the 3.7 tons of illegal drugs were seized in carious police operations in the past months-- with estimated value of P19.9 billion.

They were destroyed through thermal decomposition or thermolysis at the Integrated Waste Management, Inc. in Barangay Aguado in Trece Martirez City in Cavite. “These dangerous drugs comprise evidence seized from various anti-drug operations conducted by PDEA together with counterpart law enforcement and military units,’’it added.
