In an interview on "Sports Lock and Loaded" forum, Tenorio recalled having a conversation with then Alaska coach Luigi Trillo. Before the trade, the 5-foot-9 Tenorio was on an emotional high after his stint with the national team at the 2012 Jones Cup, where the Filipinos beat the US and he was named tournament MVP.
