MANILA, Philippines — Filipino gymnast Carlos Yulo put on a show in the finals of the men's artistic gymnastics individual all-around in the 2024 Paris Olympics.But it wasn't enough to earn a podium finish as Yulo settled for 12th place with a total score of 83.032 points. The golden boy stood out in the vault apparatus, earning a score of 14.766 as he executed a double pike and a half twist.
The Filipino gymnast struggled in the first rotation after losing his grip and a miscount in the pommel horse apparatus that led him to receive a score of 11.900. He bounced back in the still rings with 13.933 points. Yulo was initially at the 24th of the standings before he jumped in 12th as his favored apparatuses led him to pivot from the bottom. Yulo displayed a safe and clean routine on the high bar apparatus scoring 13.600.
