The HSE is urging people to request identification from any individual who visits their home

, following an incident where a man pretending to be a HSE employee showed up at the residence of a disabled child.

According to The Irish Mirror, there was a warning letter issued to parents stating “The man knew the boy's full name and he was wearing a mask and a hat.“The mum reported that she was immediately suspicious and asked the man to present his ID," the letter stated. "He did not provide any identification and left.”

The HSE acknowledged the incident in a statement provided to The Irish Mirror, affirming that they are fully aware of the situation. They have promptly reported the incident to the Gardai and TUSLA. “HSE staff providing out of home support will only call upon prior arrangements in place. HSE staff carry photo ID."
