A paramedic has tearfully told a court she has nightmares and thought she may be seriously hurt when she was assaulted by a drunk woman in the cells of the Bendigo Police Station early this year. The woman attacked the paramedic after being found drunk in a McDonald's toiletOn Tuesday, the ABC fought a court decision made last Thursday that prevented it from naming the attacker or the victim. The attacker's identity remains suppressed for legal and safety reasons.

Court documents show she was escorted from the toilets by police, unable to walk by herself, slurring her speech and smelling of alcohol. The prosecution told the court the attacker punched the paramedic, Dani , while she was trying to place a heart monitor on the 20-year-old. The court heard the attacker then told police the following day that she could not recall the assault.
