Pandelela is qualified to speak based on her experience. In fact she is trying to make a fifth Olympic appearance in Paris next year, which will enable her to equal the record held by Datuk Leong Mun Yee. “I hope for more biomechanic support. If the sports science support system is more consistent, then it will help us as athletes to perform.“We certainly can do with better budget allocation as the juniors are left out when we go to China for training camp, so how do we expect them to catch up fast?”
“I just wanted to get the competition feel to be ready for my first international assignment – the World Cup leg in Montreal next month.“But my personal targets this year are to qualify for the Olympics and to get back on the Asian Games podium,” said Pandelela, who missed out on the medals at the last Asian Games in Jakarta in 2018.
