PAN continues to strive for Erick Thohir to be chosen as Prabowo Subianto's vice presidential candidate, while the Golkar Party proposes Airlangga Hartarto.
After the National Awakening Party decided to collaborate with the Nasdem Party, the Indonesian Forward Coalition now consists of the Gerindra Party, Golkar Party, PAN, the Crescent Star Party , and the People's Wave Party Indonesia. This coalition has agreed to nominate Gerindra Party Chairman Prabowo Subianto as the prospective presidential candidate .
Actually, two parliamentary political parties that support Prabowo have proposed names to become vice presidential candidates. Golkar party has offered its chairman, Airlangga Hartarto, while PAN has put forward Minister of SOEs, Erick Thohir's name. Meanwhile, the electability of the potential presidential candidate tends to have a narrow margin. Therefore, the PAN party considers the potential vice presidential candidate to be increasingly crucial in increasing the level of electability. However, PAN still leaves the decision on the candidate's position to the KIM consensus meeting.
