MANILA- Malacañang said Tuesday it would let authorities handle the case of a teacher who was arrested after offering a P50 million reward money for the slay of President Rodrigo Duterte.
The public school teacher, who hails from Sta. Cruz, Zambales was arrested Monday by the National Bureau of Investigation."Yan po ay nasa kamay na ng ating law enforcement agencies. Hayaan po natin na gawin nila ang trabaho nila," Roque said in a Palace briefing. "Kung merong prima facie case for any case, kasuhan siya at mabibigyan naman po siya ng pagkakataon na patunayang hindi siya nagkasala sa ating hukuman sa takdang panahon," he added.
The NBI said the teacher can be charged violation of the cybercrime law and may be jailed and/or fined with not lower than P200,000.“Nagso-sorry po [ako] kay Presidente Rodrigo Duterte at nagawa ito, iyong tweet na iyon, hindi ko po intensyon iyon, hindi ko po intensyon iyon," he said.
