The communications and digital minister appeared frustrated that the participation of the Malaysian United Democratic Alliance had caused the vote split in favour of Perikatan Nasional in a few seats in the state elections. In a three-cornered fight for Sungai Kandis, PN candidate Wan Dzahanurin Ahmad managed to wrest the seat from PH after garnering 28,926 votes, 167 more than his rival, Zawali Mughni.
