KLANG: Pakatan Harapan does not agree with political appointments in government-linked companies (GLCs) which involve businesses, says DAP secretary-general Anthony Loke.

He said political appointments in statutory bodies were not an issue, adding that Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim should be given the flexibility to consider political appointments for these bodies as it had been done before.

Loke, who is Transport Minister, said he would not agree to the political appointments of companies under his ministry such as Prasarana Malaysia Bhd and Malaysia Airport Holdings Bhd. He said the opposition parties would continue to allege that the DAP was a threat to the Federal Government as well as the Malays and Muslims.“DAP is a punching bag to them .

The DAP had never betrayed its partner parties in the state over the 15 years since Pakatan Harapan took over Selangor, he added.
