CHURCHGOERS attending the Misa de Gallo in Cebu and Bohol are advised to bring umbrellas as light rains may occur despite fair weather conditions, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration Visayas. Pagasa Visayas weather specialist Manny John Agbay said in a phone interview on Sunday, Dec. 15, 2024, that generally fair weather is expected in the region at the start of the early dawn mass on Monday, Dec. 16, but localized rains remain possible.
Agbay advised the public to bring umbrellas to avoid getting wet during the early morning masses. Misa de Gallo will end on Christmas Eve on Dec. 24. Meanwhile, Pagasa Visayas is monitoring cloud clusters outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility , southeast of Mindanao, which may develop into a low-pressure area . “It is possible that from tomorrow until Thursday, there is a low to moderate chance of an LPA forming from these cloud clusters),” Agbay said in a mix of Cebuano and English.
