Agents of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) seized 465 tablets of ecstasy worth P1.4 million in a buy-bust operation in Quezon City on Thursday.
An operative of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency shows a total of 465 suspected ecstacy tablets seized from a man identified as Arnold Dy, a native of Cebu City during a buy-but operation in Brgy Bagumbayan, Libis, Quezon City. An estimated value of P1.4 million worth of illegal drugs were seized by authorities.
The suspect is now facing charges for violation of section 5 article II of Republic Act 9165 otherwise known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. Just recently, some 18 confidential informants received cash rewards amounting to more than PHP11.224 million from the agency after they provided information that resulted in successful anti-drug operations and confiscation of illegal drugs.
PDEA Director-General Aaron Aquino noted the granting of rewards and incentives is under PDEA “Operation Private Eye”, a citizen-based information collection program designed to encourage the active participation of private citizens to report illegal drug activities in their communities. Aquino personally gave the rewards also on Friday to PDEA- Intelligence and Investigation Service , PDEA Regional Office National Capital Region , PDEA-Regional Office III , PDEA Regional Office IV-A , PDEA Regional Office XI , and PDEA Regional Office XII .
