Athletes say they're realizing a dream

“I was really stressed because making finals is important,” said Cudmore, 16. “It’s important being here representing P.E.I. and being able to compete against the best gymnasts in the country.” Cudmore, Jaegar and MacDougall competed in the bars, beam, floor and vault in the all-around finals. Asked about their favourite event, all three provided different responses. Cudmore answered the floor because it is fun; MacDougall likes the bars because it feels good after hitting the routine, and Jaegar prefers the vault.In the team event, MacDougall, Cudmore, Covey, Jaegar competed in the bars, beam, floor and vault.
“To see all the other very talented gymnasts, it really motivates you to want to get back in the gym and really get better. It’s really awesome to see all these wonderful girls and boys who have worked so hard for this and really pushed to get here.” Covey and McKenna said one thing they have learned throughout their journey to the Canada Games is hard work pays off.
