Subject of emergency alert message arrested - May 2, 2024 | SaltWire #dartmouth #update #suspectSoftball Canada recently named Quinn, from Mermaid, P.E.I., as head coach of its under-18 male team and Doug Allin of Peachtree, B.C., the head coach of the under-23 male national squad for the next cycle of events.

“Softball Canada went through their evaluation process with the players and parents, and they did an evaluation with the people in charge of the national programs and the board level,” said Quinn. “Then, what they did, is ratified my position saying if I was interested, I would have the opportunity to come back as the head coach, which I said, ‘I would absolutely love to do again.’Quinn said he’s excited to return to the under-18 team.

He added there is a lot of learning and teaching involved, especially on the technical side of the game. Quinn’s coaching accomplishments have not gone unnoticed. He was named the 2023 Sport P.E.I. coach of the year and is a member of Softball Canada’s coach development committee. “The following year will be ID camps for the players eligible for the qualifying team and move forward from that piece.”“They took those two programs and kind of staggered them, so there is either a qualifying event or a world championship each year,” said Quinn, who added, as a coach, the goal is to see the players continue to move up to higher levels in the national program. But there is much more involved with coaching at this level than Xs and Os on the softball field.
