CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. — P.E.I. Burger Love is back this year in a big way with a record 90 restaurants serving 88 different burgers.

“This has the chance to be a very significant revenue generator stream for us,” Danya O’Malley, executive director of the Family Violence Prevention Services, told SaltWire as she prepared to bite down on a burger at Lone Oak Brewpub in Charlottetown on April 3. Jenn Maxwell, the manager at Lone Oak Brewpub, said burger love has been a big addition to its restaurant.

“ know the ins and outs, so they are a part of this as well. I honestly feel that people were excited to take part. You put in the effort and hope for the best. It is a really great initiative and people love Burger Love.” Burger Love would take a break in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and in 2021 Fresh Media ran the campaign as a take-out-only option. Restaurants reopened in 2022, but people were still hesitant to venture out. In 2023, Fresh Media owner Melody Dover took the year off because of health issues, and the campaign was paused.
