Winter Olympics cult-hero Steven Bradbury has relived the moment he saved four teenage girls from drowning in surf on the Sunshine Coast.
The 49-year-old former short track speed skater had helped save the girls who were struggling in rough swell at Happy Valley at Caloundra in March last year.
Winter Olympics cult-hero Steve Bradbury has relived the moment he saved four teenage girls from drowning in surf on the Sunshine Coast.“I glanced out the back and I saw what I thought was a log out in the line up but as the next wave went over I realised it was a head.Mr Bradbury said he told his son to"bolt for the lifeguards" while he used the surfboard to paddle towards the struggling girl.
“I got the third girl on the front of the board who was also a good swimmer and knew how to paddle, so her and I paddled the board in."
