Foreign homeseeker interest in Australia has hit a record high, in an ominous sign for our rental crisis and housing affordability pressures. 👇
“Now that overseas students are back and migrant workers have returned, they are looking for local accommodation, and renting a property is top of their agenda,” PropTrack Senior Data Analyst Karen Dellow said.
“Interest in Australian property from China has been increasing recently, mostly for rental properties,” Ms Dellow said. New Zealand has held the top spot for the past two years in terms of searches for Australian real estate, with rent searches up 37.5 per cent on this time last year and searches to buy up 8.8 per cent.
