More than 4,000 Metro Manila policemen were promoted to higher ranks, according to the National Capital Region Police Office on Tuesday.
At least 12 policemen were promoted as Police Major, 462 as Police Captain, 38 as Police Lieutenant, 82 as Police Executive Master Sergeant, 266 as Police Chief Master Sergeant, 168 as Police Senior Master Sergeant, 345 as Police Master Sergeant, 2,118 as Police Staff Sergeant, and 1,170 as Police Corporals.
Estomo said the promotion was a result of the merit system given to the Philippine National Police uniformed personnel for their “selfless years to service.”
