Police announced Wednesday that front-line patrol officers, neighbourhood resource officers and traffic services unit members issued 425 provincial offence notices between last Friday and Monday. • One was a repeat offender, while one was in a bus lane watching video while driving 102 km/h in a 60 zone.• One driver under suspension was clocked at 157 km/h in an 80 zone; that vehicle was impounded for 45 days. Police also issued offence notices for: documents infractions, 87; disobeying signs, 40; plate infractions, 30; other violations, 30; cellphone use, 30; red/amber light infractions, 21; equipment, 17; seatbelts, 15; changing lanes unsafely, 9; careless driving, 6; being unlicensed, 6; tow truck infractions, 4; window tints, 4; noise/muffler, 3; G1 infractions, 3; Liquor Licence & Control Act infractions, 2; Cannabis Act infraction, 1.
