It was standing room only as the Ottawa-Carleton District School Board met Tuesday night to decide if masks should be mandated in schools once again. “Over the past two years, this community has experienced considerable uncertainty, adversity, and change. People are feeling passionate, frustrated, anxious, and angry about a range of issues. As a result, we have seen more polarization on issues and a reduced capacity to listen to and learn from each other.
During the meeting Tuesday, people in the crowd yelled at trustees, chanted and sang O Canada. An attendee plunked a cardboard box on the board table full of envelopes and declared trustees had been “served” with notice of legal liability.
