“Whitehead’s father is from Perth and his grandfather lives in Perth,” said Boyd. “They’re familiar with the 67s and the OHL and we’re a little more confident .” Later in the draft, the 67’s picked centre Cole McKinney and defencemen Asher Barnett, both from the Chicago Mission 15 program. Goaltender Jaeden Nelson, a Barrhaven native who played with the Toronto Marlboros under 16 AAA program last season was also drafted 63 overall by the 67’s.
