Environment and Water Minister Tanya Plibersek says many prominent Australian organisations are supporting the Voice referendum because they see it will make a difference for First Nations Australians. “The people who are involved including their staff say they want to see changes to our constitution that recognise Indigenous Australians,” Ms Plibersek told Sky News Australia. “They want to see a body set up that would provide advice to the parliament so the parliament makes better decisions when it comes to issues affecting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Australians. Ms Plibersek’s comments come after a heated discussion erupted between Qantas bosses and Senator Bridget McKenzie over the airline's support for the Yes23 campaign in the upcoming Voice referendum. Qantas announced its support for the Yes23 campaign by splashing three aircraft with the campaign’s logo at an event at Sydney Airport attended by the Prime Minister.

‘The Voice is a political ploy to grab power’: Warren Mundine‘The Voice is a political ploy to grab power’: Warren MundineLeading No campaigner Warren Mundine says the Voice referendum is a political ploy to grab power from the Australian nation and traditional Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander peoples. “The Voice is not about whether Indigenous Australians are recognised, respected or listened to, and it’s certainly not about how to improve the lives of Indigenous people,” Mr Mundine said at the National Press Club on Tuesday. “I believe many well-meaning Australians support the Voice because they believe it will solve problems because they believe Indigenous people want it. “Sadly, I think many Australians also feel they must support the Voice because of misplaced guilt about Australia's history, but I don't think all of these supporters have grasped the path this referendum is taking us down. “I believe they don't see the threat that the Voice poses to Aboriginal traditional owners and to the character of Australia itself.”

Mr Mundine addressed the National Press Club of Australia on Tuesday, just under three weeks away from the Voice referendum, as he provided alternatives. Mr Dean said this comes a week after Shadow Indigenous Australians Minister Jacinta Price clearly laid out the “historical truth” of Australia and Indigenous relations. Mr Dean urged Australians to listen to Ms Price and Mr Mundine. Australians will head to the ballot box to vote in the Voice referendum in October, which is likely heading for defeat, according to the polls.

Australians ‘just want to get on with things’: Jacinta PriceAustralians ‘just want to get on with things’: Jacinta PriceShadow Indigenous Australians Minister Jacinta Price says Australians “just want to get on with things” as she campaigns against the Indigenous Voice to Parliament. Ms Price said while Prime Minister Anthony Albanese focuses on the referendum, “nothing else” is getting done. “Let’s not forget cost-of-living also affects Indigenous Australians – particularly our most marginalised,” she said during a media conference on Tuesday. “Everyone’s feeling that right now, feeling the pinch of cost-of-living. “We’ve got about 18 days left to go before the referendum and then we can get back to actually addressing our real issues as a country together without dividing us along the lines of race.”
