With a massive Optus outage currently affecting millions of Aussies, businesses and the nation’s largest train network, one question remains: how did this happen? According to Downdetector, reports of the outage started to filter in about 4am on Wednesday, with Aussies waking up to no signal on their phones and no internet service.
Optus outage reported across Australia. Optus outage impacts Melbourne Melbourne’s train network quickly crumbled, with Metro Trains announcing about 4.40am the entire network had been shut down due to the outage. “Services are currently stopped due to a communications outage across the train network,” it said Train lines began resuming about an hour later, however long delays are still impacting commuters.
