The TBS also notes that “PSAC has a significant number of costly non-wage-related demands.” For instance, it wants “increased paid leave for family-related responsibilities from 37.5 hours to 75 hours every year.” That’s two weeks of paid time off. And it’s on top of “four weeks of automatic vacation leave after four years of service, rather than after seven years of service.”Article content

PSAC also wants “all overtime paid at double-time, where now it is most often paid at time-and-a-half” and bigger shift premiums and meal allowances. This is the same union thata back-to-office order an “egregious violation” of workers’ rights. So, do bureaucrats seriously expect taxpayers to pick up the cost of their meal if they work from home and toddle off to the fridge for a sandwich?
