Operation Red Nose wraps up 2022 season.
Operation Red Nose, a service to help impaired people and their vehicles make it home safely during the holiday season, has officially ended their 2022 season.Rick Watt, a spokesperson for Red Nose Quinte, said that while the year was a success they had fewer passengers than they had before COVID.
Watt said that they had given an estimated 350 ridess total in 2022, compared to 1500 yearly rides before COVID. They also made those trips with fewer volunteers than normal, with only 14 teams compared to the 35 they had in previous years. “I think people are a little hesitant to go out and party, still,” said Watt. “It was mostly house parties.”The 2022 season was their first year running since the COVID-19 pandemic.
