Former US President Donald Trump has taken aim at his fellow Republican Party members in his victory speech after winning the Conservative Political Action Conference’s straw poll, labelling them “freaks” and “open border zealots.”

Donald Trump has taken to the stage at the Conservative Political Action Conference in Fort Washington, Maryland on Saturday night, where he declared “we are going to finish what we started" after winning CPAC's straw poll by a wide margin.

In his victory speech the 45th US President who was the conference's closing speaker pledged he will “beat the Democrats…and evict Joe Biden from the White House.”In his nearly two-hour address the former US leader took aim at other members of the Republican Party, hoping to garner support to clinch the GOP nomination for President in 2024.

“We are never going back to a party that wants to give unlimited money to fight foreign wars that are endless wars, that are stupid.” He added while the theme of this year's conference was"Protecting America Now," the real theme is “that Trump won the last election. “
