MARANG: The Terengganu enforcement division of the Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Ministry (KPDN) has mobilised 116 personnel to conduct checks under Op Pantau 2023, implemented since last Thursday.
Its director Saharuddin Mohd Kia said they were assisted by 58 price monitoring officers to check on prices of goods, including at Ramadan bazaar, Aidilfitri bazaar, public market, farmer's market, supermarket and online sales activities.
"Op Pantau 2023 started on the first day of fasting by focusing on the Ramadan bazaar, public market and farmer's market. "So we expect cooperation from traders by not taking advantage of the fasting month by indiscriminately increasing prices," he said after the launch of the 2023 Terengganu Rahmah Ramadan Bazaar in Binjai Rendah, here.
In conjunction with the event, the ministry distributed RM20 in the form of e-wallets through the Retail Sector Digitisation Initiative programme to the first 6,000 visitors at the bazaar."This initiative is only offered at Rahmah Binjai Rendah Ramadan Bazaar every weekend during the month of Ramadan, as for traders, they get e-wallet of RM30,” he added. - Bernama
