Originally, OnePlus was to unveil its first foldable device on 29 August 2023. But the global launch of the OnePlus Open might have been postponed to a later date. Sources familiar with the subject claimed that it was due to a change in production.

While it wasn't specific, we can probably assume both the primary and cover displays will be from Samsung.Open was supposed to have a BOE screen but turns out it was - new panels are from Samsung— Max Jambor August 1, 2023 Fortunately, the sizes of the screens are unlikely to change.

It's unknown why OnePlus decided to switch. OnePlus could have done this to have better screens, or perhaps there were supply issues on BOE Display's side. That's just our speculation, however, so quote us on it. But what do you think? Is there a specific reason for OnePlus to switch to Samsung displays?
