The incident occurred Tuesday night when the South Simcoe Police Service said officers responded to a “disturbance” in a 25th Sideroad and 9th Line home in Innisfil.
One officer is dead and another critically wounded in a line-of-duty incident in Innisfil, the South Simcoe Police Service announced Wednesday morning.
The incident occurred Tuesday night where the SSPS said officers responded to a “disturbance” in a 25th Sideroad and 9th Line home in Innisfil. The two officers were then shot in the home. The critically wounded officer was airlifted to a trauma centre and the suspect is dead following an “interaction” with the police, SSPS reported.that acting chief John Van Dyke will provide a statement on the incident, and asked people to “please pray for all those involved.”
The Special Investigations Unit is investigating this incident with the York Regional Police. The SSPS will hold a press conference on the incident today, a press release stated.
