Report: George, Westbrook undergo procedures:

Russell Westbrook celebrates with Paul George , The Canadian Press

Oklahoma City Thunder star Paul George will miss the start of training camp after undergoing a procedure on his rotator cuff in his right shoulder,His teammate, Russell Westbrook, also went under the knife to repair a torn ligament in his left hand and a minor procedure on his surgically repaired knee.

This was the first of a pair of expected surgeries for George, 29. The Palmdale, CA still needs a procedure for a small labrum tear in his left shoulder. George incurred the more serious of the two injuries on February 26 against the Denver Nuggets. He went on to miss three games at the time, but experienced an aggravation of the injury in the penultimate game of the regular season. The team is expected to give a firmer time frame for his recovery at a later date.

Westbrook, 30, played with an injury to the fourth metacarpal of his non-shooting hand for the final six weeks of the season. His knee injury originally arose in the 2013 playoffs when he tore the meniscus in his right knee. He had that knee scoped last fall and missed training camp, along with the first two games of the season.
