The 1840s\u002Dera structure on Talbot Trail in rural Chatham\u002DKent has been in a dilapidated state for decades

Peter Anderson looks at the dilapidated house in rural Chatham-Kent where his mother was raised. It’s been dubbed Canada’s most photographed house.

“The committee finds that a signed complaint form is not a pre-condition to a complaint being filed, and does not prevent a bylaw inspector from reviewing the property,” stated the decision. Anderson also argued this should have been addressed as a trespass to property issue rather than a property standards complaint.

The decision states Anderson indicated he is considering a heritage designation for the property. However, when asked if he has proceeded, Anderson indicated he has not pursued this option yet, according to the notice.
