Nylander scores in OT as Maple Leafs return from break to beat Blues Via koshtorontosun
William Nylander scored the winner at 4:03 of the extra period, breaking in alone on goalie Jordan Binnington and deking to his backhand.
Goalie Ilya Samsonov, heading into the break, had said he was hoping for a mental reset. He might have needed more time, as he has allowed an average of four goals a game in his past three starts. Samsonov was sharp early in the third as the Leafs killed off a holding call on captain John Tavares. A pad save on Vladimir Tarasenko was the best of the three that Samsonov made on the kill.
