The chief executive of Australia’s peak nursing professional body has warned that the sector will be unable to meet new reforms around staffing.

Australian College of Nursing CEO, Kylie Ward, says the government’s target of 24/7 nursing care in all residential aged care homes by 1st July is unrealistic and could exacerbate issues already facing the sector.

This comes as aged care provider Wesley Mission announced it would be closing all its facilities in Sydney amid recruitment and staffing difficulties.
