The impact of the 2019 Liquor Act will be examined by the NT government, amid calls for stronger regulations to stem the flow of alcohol into remote communities.

However, the NT government has maintained that the scheme was a "race-based policy that disempowered Aboriginal Territorians". Kirsten Engels wants to see more restrictions in place to better control the supply of alcohol in the NT.
