New South Wales Premier Dominic Perrottet has thanked volunteers working to assist with the floods and businesses for their support.
“In addition to that, it’s not just our SES volunteers who we’re here with today to thank for the work that they do but also all our volunteers right across New South Wales and whether that’s surf lifesaving, fire service, fire and rescue,” Mr Perrottet said.
“Right across the board we have men and women putting their lives on the line day in and day out to keep us safe, so I want to thank them. “In addition to that, I want to do a shoutout today to our businesses across New South Wales. Our businesses provide leave for our volunteers to go out and look after our communities and it’s often the case that businesses provide that leave in circumstances where there are floods in Sydney and it’s more noticeable right here.
“But there are very difficult situations that communities across New South Wales are facing, and I just want to thank those businesses who provide that support to our volunteers who do what they love doing, but most importantly allowing them to go out and protect our communities right across New South Wales.”
