"At all times he has undertaken his responsibilities as a minister with the highest of standards," he said in the statement. "The events of the last 24 hours have provided an unnecessary distraction for the government at a time when the most important thing for the people of New South Wales is to be concentrating on the choice before them," he said in a statement.
"I say absolutely, categorically that in relation to any decision-making I have been involved in that it has been in the interest of the people of this state and never with an eye to any possible interest I may have."
