NSW Police have concluded a major crackdown on impaired driving – Operation RAID (Remove All Impaired Drivers) – following a surge in road fatalities across the state.
New South Wales Police have exposed rampant drunk and drug driving over the weekend in a major operation which uncovered more than 6,600 traffic offences including more than 400 drugged drivers.NSW Police have concluded a major crackdown on impaired driving – Operation RAID – following a surge in road fatalities across the state.
The state-wide operation began on Thursday and concluded on Sunday morning in a bid to crack down on driving under the influence and driver fatigue. NSW Police administered 10,885 Random Drug Tests over the weekend and detected 470 drivers with a positive result. Picture: Supplied Mr Driver said: “We don’t want a repeat of last September’s road toll, where in a two-week period we saw almost two people die per day on NSW roads”.
