Digitising business licensing and creating end-to-end e-regulation platforms is saving practitioners significant time, and helping regulators keep a better view of companies and sectors.
Small enterprises such as conveyancers, paintball operators and building designers are saving 43 minutes on average to obtain business licences under a $173 million NSW digital registration program.
“The program had given back more than 588,000 hours to customers and businesses by saving time in application processing,” Mr Dominello said. “Paper application processes are often time-consuming and duplicative, with much of the information requested from the customer already held by the NSW government regulators,” he said.
Under the single view program regulators can work together to better identify higher risk businesses and focus compliance efforts. For business, it opens the opportunity to deal with regulators through a single entry point, lowering compliance costs.
