Membertou Jr. Miners logo. JEREMY FRASER/CAPE BRETON POST.SPRINGHILL, N.S. - The Membertou Jr. Miners kept their Nova Scotia Junior Hockey League playoff push alive on Friday, defeating the Cumberland County Blues 4-2 at the Dr. Carson and Marion Murray Community Centre.

Andrew McCarron scored twice, while Landon Clark and Blake Cox added single marker for the Jr. Miners.Membertou's Darian McInnis made 28 saves. Cumberland County's Ryan Weitzle stopped 56 of 60 shots. Meanwhile, in Antigonish, the Antigonish AA Munro Bulldogs downed the Eskasoni Eagles 7-2 at the Antigonish Arena.

Will Fitzsimmons and Darren Waterman both scored twice, while Zachary Lorette, Owen Flemming and Logan McGrath chipped in with goals for the Bulldogs. Sonny Kabatay and Alex Christmas, called up from the Cape Breton West Islanders of the Nova Scotia Under-18 Major Hockey League, each had a goal and an assist for the Eagles.- Jeremy Fraser is the sports reporter for the Cape Breton Post.
