Nova Scotia drivers filling their tanks Friday morning are now paying 166.8 cents for a litre of regular self-serve in Zone 1, which includes Halifax and is the lowest-priced area of the province. Prices, which are changed overnight Thursday by the provincial fuel-price regulator, top out in Cape Breton's Zone 6 at 168.8 cents.
Diesel drivers, however, got the short end of the drumstick heading into the Thanksgiving weekend: a litre of diesel rose 1.3 cents to 207.5 . Over the past week or so, the price of West Texas Intermediate — the flagship American crude oil — has fallen dramatically amid fears of a global recession.
