Many people will experience some depression or anxiety in their lives “and it’s critical that we have the resources to help us at our fingertips when we need them the most,” said Brian Comer, Minister responsible for the Office of Addictions and Mental Health, at a news conference in Halifax.Until now Tranquility Online has only been available by referral through primary care providers or the Mental Health and Addictions Intake Program.
Muise said CBT therapy helped him deal with anxieties including fear of social interaction and public speaking. Wait times for non-urgent mental health services at Nova Scotia Health have jumped over the past two years. For example, most people waited about 139 days for help at the Bayers Road clinic in Halifax in July-September 2022. Two years ago, that wait time was 28 days.
