SEOUL – North Korean leader Kim Jong Un has said his country is an “invincible comrade-in-arms” with Russia in a message to President Vladimir Putin, state media outlet KCNA said on June 12, amid speculation over Mr Putin’s impending visit to North Korea.

The message came after Russia’s Vedomosti newspaper on June 10 reported that Mr Putin would visit North Korea and Vietnam in the coming weeks. Mr Kim travelled to Russia’s Far East in September 2023, touring the Vostochny Cosmodrome space launch centre, where Mr Putin promised to help him build satellites.
