RCMP say over 1,000 drivers were checked for sobriety and Motor Vehicle Act compliance, leading officers to issue 30 written warnings, 28 violation tickets and 15 notice and orders, including one for excessive speed and two for impaired driving.

On Saturday, Sept. 24, North Cowichan/Duncan RCMP teamed up with officers from the BC Highway Patrol’s police dog unit to conduct the operation in Cowichan Bay and Duncan, and along the Trans-Canada Highway.
