: Electricity tariff rates for non-domestic users nationwide will be lowered from Monday with around 34,000 users estimated to benefit from the initiative.
The Ministry of Energy Transition and Water Transformation today confirmed that the tariff rates for domestic users, however, will remain unaffected,Meanwhile, the tariff for low voltage non-domestic users, water and sewage operators and “specific agriculture”, as quoted, will be lowered at 2.7 sen per kilowatthour from 3.7 sen/kWh.
Furthermore, the electricity tariff for street lights under local councils will be reduced to 9 sen/kWh from the previous rate of 10 sen/kWh.The new rate will be implemented until December 31 with PETRA to evaluate the reduced rate before 2025. Domestic users, on the other hand, will continue to enjoy no surcharge for monthly electricity consumption of 1,500kWh.
The surcharge will, however, be maintained at 10 sen/kWh for domestic users who consume over 1,500kWh of electricity per month.
