Cabinet Secretary Karlo Nograles has assured members of the House of Representatives of the “immediate” implementation of the second tranche of the Social Amelioration Program ,However, he was reluctant to give the Department of Social Welfare and Development a rigid timetable to complete the distribution.
During the discussions, Northern Samar 1st District Rep. Paul Daza asked the Cabinet Secretary about the possibility of imposing a timetable on the DSWD regarding the second and final round of SAP. He noted that the attending DSWD officials have been unable to give specific or even rough dates to his colleagues as to when the remaining 10.7 million beneficiaries could receive the financial assistance.Instead, the agency executives explained the difficulties in cleaning up or de-duplication of beneficiaries’ lists, something that Nograles attested to.
