No weekend pickets planned, if PSAC strike stretches past Friday

The union told members in a Thursday email that there would be no picket locations on Saturday or Sunday, but reminded those who were scheduled to work weekend shifts that they are still on strike.

Most of the picket locations in the National Capital Region had been operating between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. or 9 a.m. and 5 p.m., PSAC’s Alex Silas said Thursday. Though in some cases, the union may decide to shut a picket down earlier and send members to another line. Where and when to have physical picket lines is a strategic decision for the union, based on “what would have the most impact in those localities,” said Silas.
