He said he dragged Samson’s body from the kitchen, where the shooting occurred, to the bathroom and placed it in a tub while he cleaned up the blood in the apartment. The Nova Scotia Court of Appeal ruled a mistrial should have been declared after it was revealed during the trial that a private investigator hired by the defence had tipped off police about evidence.
Webb, a former RCMP officer, gave the information to police and urged them to interview the pair again.Crown attorneys Kim McOnie and Carla Ball called evidence from about 40 people. Sandeson was the only witness called by defence lawyer Alison Craig.
